And on my other designated weekly writing day this week, we are catching the matinee of a stage version of Orlando. </p><p>Why am I pleased our friend had to cancel? Kevin Klehr 🏳️🌈<p>I've been working on my first self published novel as part of a book series penned by ten different authors.</p><p>I usually work on my books, on and off, over several years. But this project has a tight deadline. So, very quickly, I changed aspects of one character as she was originally coming across too bitter. I switched to multi-person first person POV (from 3rd person limited) when about two-thirds was written (I didn't feel the connection between character and reader was strong enough). And I've already done about five edits on this thing.</p><p>Yesterday I completed edit number six, doing my usual thing of changing the font (this time to one no one would print a book in), and both deleted and added text. I know this story so well, I also caught some behavioural differences in a couple of the characters. They're now fixed.</p><p>I'm reading the last two chapters this morning (the ones that have seen the least edits) before I send this off to my designated beta readers.</p><p>My obsession with this has kicked it into shape sooner than I imagined. There are a couple of last minute characters who need further development in my next (and final) rewrites before it's off to the editor.</p><p>So, just as Halloween approaches, watch out for this year's instalment of the Haunted Hearts Series of MM Horror/Romance novels.
