Vote quartz! It's a speciality of our beautiful wee Earth, and it can take on an astonishing range of habits and colours. One of the most amazing is the incredible "ametrine" from the Anahi Mine in Bolivia, where quartz crystals have alternating zones of yellow "citrine" and purple "amethyst". These specimens from Anahi are in the Hunterian museum in Glasgow. #Geology #Mineralogy #Quartz #Ametrine @MineralCup
