Got my "school bus" (yellow accoustic #yuba #kombi, 24kg), loaded it with the kids (+40kg) and went to pick up an item downtown. 1h20m trip, 15km total, not bad for a 48yo after 18mo w/o much activity (bad shoulder). I'm psyched I survived!
Let's see if I can transport the kids and their bikes (still small) for weekend trips!

I started out the adventure thinking, "rather than park next to the street risking theft and having to deal with getting the cart on the elevator, why not bike right into the parking garage (descending from 1st FL to basement) and park next to the actual store entrance?" Then they were out of carts, and so...
Figured out another use for the #yuba #cargobike where I strap a garbage can to the side and have the 12yo bike slowly along while I use a garbage grabber to pick up trash. #BikeTooter

Hi I need #cargobike encouragement. I'm looking to buy an original #yuba spicy curry. Problem is the Currie middrive motor is not supported anymore. Does anyone have experience converting that model to a third party middrive motor like bafang?
This is making me realize that I should get a cheap front rack for the #Kombi. Not only can I not justify $200 for #Yuba's Bread Basket front rack (that's 20% of the cost of the bike itself!), but I'm worried that it would be too wide for its current storage spot, it would get stolen due to the quick release, and the additional front weight would be awkward when I put the bike vertically to work on it.

Das #Schutzblech ist übrigens einer meiner Hauptkritikpunkte am Yuba Kombi. Kalifornischer Hersteller, kennt deutsches Matschwetter natürlich nicht so.
Das Kombi hat hinten gar kein Schutzblech, sondern lediglich so eine auf den Kopf gestellte u-förmig gebogene Kunststoffplatte als Speichenschutz. Das heißt, dass bei Matsch das Zeug hinten und vorn alles vollspritzt.
Ich habe für so breite 24''-Reifen bislang nichts gefunden (2,5'' bzw. so 61 mm breit).
