Jon Elmer for The Electronic Intifada reports on never before seen footage of Yahya Sinwar on the front lines in Gaza. This footage further discredits the lies that he hid in tunnels, surrounded by hostages.

I wrote a sonnet about Yahya Sinwar last year: freefree.ps/@jmcnaughton/11344

The Electronic Intifada's Jon Elmer covers recent operations conducted by the resistance in Gaza; in Rafah and also Jabaliya. Ambushes were executed to avenge fallen commanders including Yahya Sinwar.

The thumbnail of the video shows an RPG-29 Vampire, a weapon manufactured in Gaza. It takes two fighters to operate but can be fired from greater distances.

I wrote this poem to honour the memory of Yahya Sinwar.

The news of his martyrdom completely challenged the Israeli-US imperial narrative that he hid, surrounded by hostages and human shields, hoarding all the aid.

Instead he died fighting on the front lines. He hadn't eaten in three days.

The poem uses a non-traditional rhyming scheme and the iambic pentameter isn't perfect.

No neutrality during a #genocide, we have to take a side.

Allied powers did awful things during #WWII but they also stopped the Holocaust. Sometimes #resistance is ugly, but what Palestinians have been resisting since for decades is the true evil.

Condemning Palestinian armed resistance equally or louder than #Israel is racism. They are not the same and any comparison is completely asymmetrical.

Glory to the martyrs! From the river to the sea!

"My final will is that you always remember that resistance is not in vain, nor is it just a bullet fired but a life lived with honour and dignity.

Prison and siege have taught me that the battle is long and the road is hard but I also learned that the people who refuse to surrender create miracles with their own hands."

- Yahya Sinwar, born October 29th, 1962, died as a martyr October 16th, 2024.

Edit: misattributed?
