Sylke Krämer<p>My son is currently in a two week work placement at a nearby bicycle shop (it’s a school requirement to do this), so he comes home much later than usual and gets the leftovers from our lunchtime meals. The photo doesn’t document well what a mountain of food this really was 🤣 but he was so impressed by it and liked the look of it so much that he said this is the most beautiful dish I ever made! I think he was simply very hungry 😅</p><p>He seems to like his time at the bicycle shop and next to having to pump up all bicycles in the shop, unpacking new deliveries and shredding the boxes, he is also learning a lot about bicycles and their maintenance. Yesterday they even helped him to fix his broken front light. He was told that his bicycle chain was worn down (I’m not surprised) and that he needed a new one. emma<p>Hey Mastodon – looking for some ideas on a Year 10 <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/workplacement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>workplacement</span></a> for a kid whose absolute favourite subject is <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/geography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>geography</span></a> (followed by <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/sociology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sociology</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/physics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>physics</span></a>). He’s not set on a career but thinks these are what he’d like to roll over to A-levels. </p><p>I’ve come up with the environmental/planning teams at the local council or maybe a university lab/department.
