It’s hard to be impulsive when you can foresee every outcome, after all.

There are other characters (cough, Efnysien, cough!) that are INCREDIBLY impulsive and this 100% affects the plot.

My characters do react to developing situations on the fly, but they rarely do it in any rash way.

They go back to the abandoned theater with no hesitation, loading up sandwiches and good shoes for a walk back through abandoned neighborhoods. They never considered calling the police. Ruby impulsively leaves the apartment and goes places without Zack early on and it gets her into trouble. And Zack impulsively chases her. They're a good match.

Does this affect the plot?

I don't think any of them are particularly impulsive, or particularly reserved. As with the "how organized are they?" question (https://wandering.shop/@kagan/114178442153058970), Jessie is probably the most impulsive, but David nearly ties her, partly because he hasn't got anything in his life to stop him from acting on a whim (single, child-free, etc.).

Does this affect the plot?

Kim is a bit of a poly amorous kind of person, so she doesn't have much restriction on who she sleeps with. She has a negative reputation within the Kommando (special forces) for being kind of a slut too, so that's like my only impulsive character. Other than that most are not very impulsive, but Famir can be impulsive with drinking ale and sex too.

Along with being open to new experiences. It sure does look like impulsivity, though. :blobcataww:

She's often reigned in by Riptha, but if he's ever not around or the urgency of the situation takes her out of a listening mood, she's prone to jump into things without pausing to think.

Riptha is very much not impulsive. He thinks things through thoroughly before he acts when possible. Kara sometimes makes this impossible.

And yes, this affects the plot. Multiple times, in multiple ways.
