I knew that *Darkest Hour*, a movie about #WinstonChurchill, had been released in 2017. But until glancing at some clips of it today, I had no idea that it was, in large part, a dramatisation of the story told by John Lukacs in *Five Days in London*.

I think it's little-known that the UK nearly pursued peace talks with the Nazis in 1940, that the government was far from united in the idea that they should fight on — I didn't know that until my late thirties.
