Majani is the oldest chocolatier in Italy. It was started in Bologna in 1796 by Francesco and Romualdo Majani who were hired by il "Laboratorio di Cose Dolci" the "Laboratory of Sweet Things". They eventually came to be the owners and bought another shop in Via Carbonesi in 1830 - and they are still there! This is the window display from that same shop for Christmas a couple of years ago. If you ever pop in for some chocolate you can get some chocolate tortellini (they just look like the pasta - no pasta included!) or their dark hot chocolate!
