So I put Watch Dogs: Legion back on the console after over a year to remind me of our future again.

And I gotta say just how bad Ubisoft ruined and killed off this series sucks.

The whole 'recruit anyone' and permadeath was always going to be boring if there are only a handful of mission types.

They should have just used the special recruitable characters as the main characters.

And of course Bloodline was really what WD:L should have been anyway. As soon as I played with Wrench and Aiden it became fun again, and that's basically who I only played in my non-permadeath completion in the end - but that DLC and the characters came way too late for the game and the series.

Wrench is just my man, and back in the better times, I'd ship him and Marcus just like the rest of the fanbase.

It's so sad it's gone. And of course MindsEye was clearly meant to be a spiritual successor - and we know what happened there.

I enjoy the game design of being able to recruit any NPC in Watch Dogs: Legion. It gives me freedom. Each character has a story that I can tell myself, and I currently have nine operators that I have created traits, tasks and ranks for. There’s a team leader, someone in charge of recruitment, and so on. I can make a dream team or a dirty dozen, it’s up to me. It’s the ultimate roleplaying fantasy.

I’ve been playing Watch Dogs: Legion for a while now and haven’t posted anything about the game because all the sourpusses want to spoil the fun of Ubisoft games anyway (not you, you’re awesome). I’m having a blast with this game! The gameplay of exploration, sneaking and hacking is super smooth, and the map of dystopian London is absolutely fantastic. World design is where Ubisoft is really at home.

I've admittedly never played WATCH DOGS: LEGION, but flipping through the pages of the Resistance Report definitely has me interested!

Packed with immersive text and exclusive artwork, this book is the definitive guide to the lore of WATCH DOGS: LEGION
