In case you're wondering, the polls were slammed at 2:00.

Things to remember:

  • Have ID ready
  • Stay in line
  • If you're still in line at 8:00 and stay there, you still get a ballot
  • If there's a problem, ask for a provisional ballot, don't let them make you give up
  • DO NOT, under any circumstances, take a ballot photo/selfie!

I voted today! Here's my sticker to prove it.

It wasn't easy. Before walking to vote, I checked the county clerk's website to make sure that our polling place hadn't changed. They listed the usual location, but when we got there, it was closed & locked. I think they couldn't find enough judges, & they hadn't updated the website. We called the public , & they said we could vote there, so we did.

I hope that the bad info didn't suppress the vote.

"New bill proposes repealing vote-by-mail in Oregon, public invited to testify"

It looks like this bill would make in-person voting default and folks would need to request mail ballots. Our current system sends out all ballots by mail automatically.

There's a 48 hour window to submit a public comment:

I don't know how much support this bill has but I wrote comment opposing it just in case.

"Three weeks after U.S. Rep. Sylvester Turner’s death and just over a month before the state’s next uniform election, Gov. Greg Abbott has not yet called a special election to fill the seat representing parts of Houston, a Democratic stronghold, in Congress."

About 773,000 Houstonians will have no representation in Congress for about a year 🤬
