At 500 AM EDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Three was located near latitude 30.8 North, longitude 78.6 West. A slow motion towards the north-northwest is expected to begin later today, followed by a turn northward and then northeastward by Sunday night. On the forecast track, the center of
the system is expected to move near or over the coast of South Carolina on Sunday morning.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is expected, and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm later today.

Two tropical cyclones in the Western North Pacific at the moment:
• #SevereTropicalStorm #Mun is expected to briefly reach #Typhoon strength by Sunday morning. It will not affect any major landmass.
• #TropicalStorm #Danas will intensify as a Typhoon, and move NE along the Taiwan Strait, skirting the west coast of #Taiwan on Sunday afternoon and much of Monday.
• Mun is the Yapese name for the month of June; while Danas is a Tagalog word, meaning "to feel".

Tropical Weather Outlook
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
200 AM EDT Thu Jul 3 2025
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of America:
1. Near the Southeastern U.S.:
An area of low pressure is forecast to develop along a weakening frontal boundary near Florida or the Atlantic coast of the southeastern United States by early this weekend. Environmental conditions appear only marginally conducive for some slow
development, but a tropical or subtropical depression could form in this region over the weekend or early next week while the system drifts northward or northeastward. Regardless of development, heavy rainfall is possible across portions of the southeast U.S., particularly across the west-central Florida coast.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...50 percent.

From The Weather Channel: Tropical Storms Barry And Flossie Forecast To Form In Southern Gulf, Eastern Pacific. Warning Issued In Mexico.

The first Atlantic tropical storm of the season does not usually develop so far north and so far out to sea. It will be short lived, but this is still rather concerning, in my view.
The Atlantic's first Tropical Storm has formed... but looks like a nothingburger at the moment. see image description for more info.
paraphrasing NWS statement:
Deep convection is now decreasing, but bc of the system's behavior over the past 36 hours, it's met tropical storm classification criteria.
So even tho it is a marginal one, Tropical Storm Andrea is the first Atlantic storm of the year.

Hey look! It's #TropicalStorm #Sepat, tropical cyclone №.2 in the Western North Pacific this year.
• It is expected to skirt the east coast of #Honshu, #Japan, by late Wednesday night and Thursday morning, before steering back out to sea.
• It is not expected to strengthen beyond #TropicalStorm intensity.
• The name Sepat is the Malay word for a genus of fish in the gurami family.
