Mark and MarieFinal stop on the Golden Circle tour in 2015 was Þingvellir - or Thingvellir for those without runes on their keyboards - a national park situated in a rift valley between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates and the Mid-Atlantic ridge. This was the location of Iceland’s first parliament to limit the power of the country’s chieftains and just astounding for its geological formations with one plate clearly raised in a near-straight line across the landscape. It rained so hard here that our coats formed waterfalls down onto our jeans.
