A nice big oak for #ThickTrunkThursday
Sorry Thursday is more alliterative than Tuesday 
1. Lifted heavier than I have for a while. Tried to get a trap bar selfie but it turns out you need to hold those things with both hands.
2. Got lost solving a tactile Rubik's cube blindfolded... and stuck with it and recovered! Tried to get a cubing selfie but I can't operate a touchscreen blindfold.
3. Saw some excellent old trees... and I did get pictures of those!

The thick dried sap of the tree gives off a sweet smell when burned on charcoal.
Although less in demand today, it was highly prized in the ancient world, which is why the expensive gifts given to baby Jesus by the Wise Men were gold, frankincense and myrrh (another aromatic resin).

#ThickTrunkThursday of Parisian inspiration. We found this Oriental plane last week in Parc Monceau during geocaching. It's supposed to be one of the oldest trees in Paris.
Phew. A big day driving a lot of different kinds of road!
The Kona is a little dusty but no worse for wear. 492km total with a 20min fast charge (60-80%) in Port Renfrew was enough to make the loop.
Surprise visited family in Victoria too. A good day!
Anniversary mini road trip to Nitinat River, #PortRenfrew and Botanical beach! Took the back road through #lakecowichan to Botanical Beach, now headed to #yyj and backnup the Island. Currently using the free charger to top up before the home leg.

When I touch a tree my spirit drinks from a well of of slow and deliberate vitality. I feel the strength of the roots that sink, splitting stone and holding the earth together. Resilience in the trunk that weathers storms. Grace in the branches that sway in the breeze.
