#TheWaterboys veröffentlichten am 17.10.1988 #FishermansBlues – ihr viertes Album, das einen Stilwechsel zum Irish-Folk-Rock markierte. Es erreichte #13 in UK und #76 in den USA. It's release day from my favourite band. I've been enchanted by the Waterboys for 40 years. Mike Scott has been the soundtrack to my life and I've had the pleasure of messaging him a few times over the years.
However, my expectations were a little mixed for this record. Firstly I couldn't give a shit about Dennis Hopper, I miss Steve Wickham from the band and the pre released tracks were all ok. Now hearing the album as a whole, it works so brilliantly well. I love it! What do you think @NickF ? @ThomasFioriglio

Heute geht es mit #TheWaterboys stark in die Folk Ecke. Ich mag Folkmusik dieser Richtung und auf der Platte aus dem #PunkCovers Kalender sind einige tolle Songs. Insbesondere bei den kürzeren… Manche Lieder sind allerdings bis zu 9 Minuten lang und verlieren sich dann in leicht monotones Gefiedel… das gefällt mir dann weniger. Vielleicht hängen diese Längen mit dem Kommentar von Wikipedia zusammen: „1988 verarbeitete Scott seine Drogenprobleme mit dem Album Fisherman’s Blues.“
