Has this show always been this silly? What I found a bit annoying is its wokeness. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for LGBTQI+ representation but it felt very in my face in this episode. Look, a trans character! Did we mention she's trans? Look, look, look!NuWho always had great LGBTQI+ chars, but they were always just there, and a normal part of the story, and that was awesome and how it should be.

It’s out now in the UK and will be released in the US in early January.Onramp to the FediverseThere’s a lot of trial and error involved in getting on board the Fediverse. This week, it has felt mostly like error.When we first connected, everything we posted went live on the Fediverse. Yes, that’s more or less what we wanted, but there are no backsies. Once it’s out there, it cannot be removed.Imagine my horror when it posted the scheduled post of <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://fusionpatrol.com/tag/thestarbeast/" target="_blank">#TheStarBeast</a> and included the entire post, including the synopsis. If you’re listening to Fusion Patrol, you know that there will be spoilers – the very premise of the podcast is that you have to watch the show first (or not be concerned with spoilers.) This is why I have no problem including the synopsis on the website; however, what goes out on the Fediverse serves a couple of different purposes, one of which is to try to induce new listeners to join us. To do that, you have to flag down people who, in the case of the Star Beast, are interested in <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://fusionpatrol.com/tag/doctorwho/" target="_blank">#DoctorWho</a>, so the content needs to be different, and basically just blasting out the entire plot line of a brand new TV show without content warning was just bad manners.And there’s no way to delete it and try again.I’ve not yet found a workaround, so this week’s <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://fusionpatrol.com/tag/wildblueyonder/" target="_blank">#WildBlueYonder</a> went out with no synopsis. I thoroughly enjoy Flux & am still glad Chibnall put DW into a different gear for a while. It needs it from time to time imho.

(When she didn't even seem to be non-binary.) But all in all, this was so FUN + felt like DW! And I have to love the Meep. Miriam Margolyes of all people and I had no idea!! She did a fantastic job!

AnnieAlso fairly random point but something about how The Doctors coat flowed with his movements reminded me of Jack Harkness. It just didn't move, or didn't fit him, like they did with Ten. This could be Tennant is older, moves a bit differently or maybe put on a few pounds so it drapes his body different, though I'm wondering if that might have been somewhat deliberate as part of differentiating 10 and 14.

AnnieAnd even aside from all the trans stuff there was a cool story. I liked that while Donna was suspcious of The Meep from the start, and did drop an "I told you so"... Rose was never criticized for starting with kindness. It didn't work out, that way, but no one said she was wrong for starting with it.
