The Smiths are a great band on their studio efforts, but on compilation albums like this one their weaker material appears and their usual consistency disappears. There are some interesting tunes on here though, showing off that they did in fact experiment with new sounds. Especially Golden Lights struck me. Panic with its line "hang the DJ" is gruesome though and I hate its dumb repetitiveness.

#TheSmiths mag ich musikalisch gesehen gerne, inklusive #Morrissey, um den es ja immer mal wieder Kontroversen gab. Das heutige Coverbild aus dem #PunkCovers Kalender konnte ich erstmal nicht richtig zuordnen. Zum Glück weiss ChatGPT Rat:
