@sezduck This comment reminds me that #TheLastOutpost is one of few #TNG episodes to feature three-dimensional holographic displays being used in the ready room and observation lounge.

@kcarr2015 As goofy as it is, this is among my favorite season 1-2 episodes of #TNG.
Ugh, I forgot Geordi in season 1 was always dropping flavor comments, while everyone else is super professional.
I love the viewscreen interaction between Picard and the Ferengi, DaiMon Tarr. His face is massive on the viewscreen against Picard's full figure, with a perpetual sneer, and sometimes only his teeth are visible.
@heymcdermott
Man, do I love that line.
An official poster for the Star Trek The Next Generation episode The Last Outpost, last night on H&I's All Star Trek. Looks like Tasha and Dr Crusher are missing.

PORTAL: Barbarian!
LETEK: Yes, you show wisdom.
PORTAL: Barbarians At The Gate!!
Picard: We are in pursuit of a starship of Ferengi design.
Everyone else: we’re chasing the Ferengi. #AllStarTrek #StarTrekTNG #TheLastOutpost
@lxskllr @kcarr2015 Interestingly, the 2024 video game Star Trek: Resurgence has tie-ins to #TheLastOutpost
If you’re a Trekkie, it’s an enjoyable game because it’s like an interactive episode. If you’re not a Trekkie, you should probably steer clear as the gameplay is pretty clumsy.
@lxskllr @kcarr2015 #TheEnemyWithin #TheLastOutpost - two examples of ridiculously hammy acting in Trek. Shatner goes full Shatner in the former (although it’s not a bad episode) and the Ferengi in the latter, oof (not the actors’ fault; the writers & director still didn’t know what to do with the Ferengi).
Data figuring out human/English expressions reminds me of me. “To write home about” was probably one of the first I used too!

Nice teeth.
Two episodes in a row where the Enterprise beams something to the antagonists ship to infuriate them #startrek #allstartrek #thelastoutpost #tng
People in Fresno believe that their city hall looks like a Ferengi starship.

The Last Outpost is the first appearance of the Ferengi, with those whip weapons not seen again until Lower Decks.

The Marauder Mo action figure has one of the energy whips like in #TNG #TheLastOutpost
#AllStarTrek It's kinda funny, but in this scene with the Bat'leths, Quark is channeling the original #Ferengi encountered in #StarTrekTNG #TheLastOutpost with their crudely aggressive physicality and electro whips.

The Ferengi were really new and cool in this ep, but they changed them in later episodes, and got rid of their cool laser whips (which I think returned in Picard season 3).
They were kinda sinister in this ep and very dangerous, but they dumbed them down and turned them into buffoons later on.
