Part 2/2

I also managed to catch

1962s #TheManchurianCandidate I really enjoyed this and every time I catch Angela Lansbury in something that is not an old rerun of Murder She Wrote, I marvel at what a great actress she was.

1966s #TheGoodTheBadAndTheUgly
Still not a "western" fan but this was okay.

1974s #TheConversation FFCoppola film that is tight and suspenseful. Loved it. Gene Hackman was so good in this film.

Lastly, I am still trying to finish 1999s #TheMatrix. It is proving to be an albatross around my neck 😉 But it will be finished!

Seeing as though The Matrix is still around and I am still waiting on a few titles to get into my library box, I will continue to work on the challenge.

Titles I am still waiting for

#TheHustler
#TheWagesOfFear
#TheIpcressFile
#CapeFear
#BladeRunner

Overall 2024 was a good movie year for me but from now on it will be an as and when task. Now on to another challenge....

#cinema #movies #watching

Forgive me Mastadon, it's been 3 wks since my last movie check-in. 😉 life got away with me in the last 21 days.

BUT, I have managed to rewatch #TheGodfather.

First time watches were

-2023s #ZoneOfInterest . WOW just WOW
-2023s #WickedLittleLetters with #OliviaColeman
-1981s #FourSeasons, aka #AlanAlda pumping out an homage to #NeilSimon. Nice though
-1971s #GetCarter with the guv'nor #MichaelCaine. Loved it.

So, the upcoming queue consists of

-1965s #TheIpcressFile with Michael Caine
-1984s #TheTerminator --
-1967s #CoolHandLuke
-2021s #DriveMyCar
-lastly, #HaroldAndMaude which finally came into the my library pick up

Has anyone watched The Ipcress File series on ITV?

So far there's an egregious overuse of the canted camera angle. Very 60s but also very annoying. It's like all the madcap scenes in The Avengers or 60s Batman in the lair of the Joker.

Alternatively it's like being on a lurching ship. I'm only 20 mins in and I feel sea sick.

Does it improve?

Yeah, I know the Michael Caine films did it but they did it with purpose and narrative effect and they didn't give me a headache
