I say this as a French person, though. In the 90s the availability of sitcoms was strictly limited to what TV networks would import, so obviously it's a different issue. I know <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/FamilyMatters" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#FamilyMatters</a> aired here, for instance, but in a noon timeslot on Sunday that made it less watched than, say, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TheNanny" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#TheNanny</a>, which occupied the 8pm slot on weekdays.
