Different Than<p>Back on <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/twitter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>twitter</span></a> I had some "piss off Trumpists" accounts. One was called "1930s Reich Family" (the display name was Magda und Detlev). It posted fashy, effusive praise for the worst things Trump and his cronies said and did, in terms that only a true <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Nazi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Nazi</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/bootlicker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bootlicker</span></a> would use. I didn't have any followers, but it made me feel a little better. </p><p>I was thinking of renewing Magda und Detlev on <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mastodon</span></a> but, the more I think about it, it wouldn't work because</p><p>a. That kind of edgy satire might be perceived as actual <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/fascist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fascist</span></a> content by many people</p><p>b. The situation has changed. There's no more consciousness to be raised. Needling posts like 1930sReichFamily's, implying that Trump &amp; co. are actual Nazis would seem glaringly obvious to anyone not in the Trump misinfo bubble and would probably seem like mere statements of support to those wallowing in it.</p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/stories" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>stories</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/TheBadOldDays" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheBadOldDays</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/GoodIdeaAtTheTime" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GoodIdeaAtTheTime</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/outdated" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>outdated</span></a></p>
Working Class Games<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://peoplemaking.games/@brycedixon" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>brycedixon</span></a></span> I didn't know that last part, thanks! That makes singletons even more incredible to use here. </p><p>And yep, multiple singletons was probably my first bug using them in unity :) <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/theBadOldDays" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>theBadOldDays</span></a></p>
Ethan Blanton<p>Y'all remember when viewing images was actually _hard_, and we used XV and knew how to adjust X11 colormaps? Not that we had any images, because securing that single coveted 14.4 k line on the local BBS was hard. Even though the guy who was on it probably only had a 2400 bps modem anyway! <a href="https://social.sdf.org/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> <a href="https://social.sdf.org/tags/TheBadOldDays" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheBadOldDays</span></a></p>
