Creepy anglerfish and tentacles dress was speaking to me this morning for Friday the 13th (also, add/drop deadline and with 60 students and a wait list, that's legit scary). Wrapped up my first little experiment on the #TextileMakerspace rigid heddle #loom. #DHsewing

It's a day of #TextileMakerspace meetings and fiddling with #looms so I'm channeling the Able Sisters. I'm so excited to have fixed the problem with the rigid heddle loom. Let the #weaving commence! #DHsewing #ACNH

I am on a quest to find an in-person #weaving mentor who'd be up for driving to Stanford to show us how to set up and use the loom at the #TextileMakerspace. This collides with digital humanities, as the fiber artist guild of the South Bay has no website, only an Earthlink email, and you have to fill out an anti-spam email submitter request form for the person to receive your email, and the form throws errors and does not submit.

Just playing with the hacked #KnittingMachine with my favorite band's logo and some donated sequin yarn. Moderate glitch art effect but not as bad as I feared from the mess on the back.

Love the #AYAB software/hardware (All Yarns Are Beautiful) but some yarns, frankly, are a massive pain to work with. #knitting #TextileMakerspace

Was just interviewed about leadership by the friend of one of my #TextileMakerspace students, and now I'm going to just curl up in a ball of awkward embarrassment about the whole thing.

I have spent the day teaching everything from #HathiTrust collection-building to vanquishing Word gremlins to getting Unicode data into Excel to rotary cutter skills to Cricut configuring to threading a serger and coverstitch at the #TextileMakerspace -- all to friendly & agreeable adults.
