Behold: Tentacles! This time made from denim! What will I come up next?! 🤣 Yeah — this guy doesn't have much of an origin story: reaching tentacles were popular last year, I had some old jeans, I made this. I know, very deep.

It's delightful to see actual sunshine in the studio, but it also reminds me that I have to move the ryijy out of its path.

A thick-pile, woven, wall-hanging rug is hanging on a grey wall and has a raking beam of sunshine diagonally across its center. It is a multi-coloured rug with a central motif of an abstracted bonfire. There is a blurred mass of orange and red radiating from the centre of the composition, and it is surrounded by purple, blue, green, and pale yellow. It is almost like the bonfire is on a horizon line, with the red and purple on the top half mirrored by yellow, orange, green, and blue on the bottom

Extrude/Exude has been going along nicely - Thanks to everyone who has visited thus far 😊

Last year I received a pair of deer antlers that still had fuzzy, light brown fur on them. They looked so fun. I would've wanted to present them just as they were, but unfortunately they kept shedding and shedding constantly 🙈 So I was forced to strip and clean them completely. Saddened by this, I had the idea to re-fur them and even give them some extra appendages to fur up.

Boy, those long appendages took ages to stuff by hand 🤣

#Scrollbook photos from my animation work yesterday.
This was the most fascinating for the children: You can collect tiny scraps (paper or fabric) only because you like their colour or texture. And then you can value them, give them your own story with wild stitching.
I'm already thinking about children's workshops for our summer holiday program ...

Small scraps of saree silk and lace: I loved the pink-pea-green weaving and the acid yellowish green. So I collected the scraps, fixed them with yellow and purple thread.
One of my favourite fabric scraps, silk, green-pink weaving. I fixed it with intuitive stitching on paper from a used teabag. This book is also for reading with the hands: The silky touch, the smooth paper, the wild textures of the embroidery stitches.
A very small saree silk scrap. It's bright rosé with an ornamental print in purple and dark red. The wild stitches follow the ornament.
