@ai6yr @breadandcircuses and then we get some old (pre-) #Boomers teasing us #Millenials with something halfway cool just to then give us the finger with an absurdly high pricetag of € 111.000 and only 200 available for purchase.

Instead of #SuerUselessVehicles we need #PersonalLightVehicles, and I know #EcoHipster will hate me for it but a #TataNano or my used #Corsa D 1.0 will habe way less impact on the envoirment than any #CyberTruck because it ain't a fucking #WankPanzer / #IncelCar but I do at leasr try to max efficiency on every trip by asking before going if.I should get something.(on the way back)...

@fuck_cars_bot propably because of 3 things:

  1. #India has working #PublicTransport - it's not good, it's overcrowded but still better than that of the #USA, and it consists of both official operators and an unknown number of informal providers ranging from someone on a 50cm³ #scooter to #taxi and #bus operators.

  2. Most people can't afford a #car at all - like 1920s Germany people may at most afford a motorcycle or a scooter for the entire family. Even the #TataNano was still expensive even at the promo price of INR 100.000 .

  3. Lack of personal #vehicle #ownership makes it easy for operators of taxi and bus services to turn a profit. Plus people are less wary about offering people a ride for the cost of fuel and some tips and even in rural areas there is at least some irregular & informal service that gets people somehow connected.

As for China, UAE, Israel and many others, either excellent public transport or paywalling keeps car ownership low.

@threetails What I see from the tumbnail alone is a lot of expensive & custom parts.

If the CyberTruck wasn't an EV and they used only flat steel panels riveted onto a steel frame like a plane (but there it's aluminium) $30k eould've been possible with something like a I4 (i.e. GM ECOTEC) on a manual transmission drivetrain.

The way I'd go about costs is like the did but even more radical, and use and parts wherever possible.

@Wuergenippel @rahmstorf
