TIAA is the world’s fourth-largest holder of coal bonds. Emissions from oil, gas, and coal are significant contributors to the #climatecrisis, leading to increasingly frequent hurricanes, fires, and floods. TIAA claims it’s acting in the best interest of retirement savers.
But investing billions in fossil fuels and destructive plantations in places like Brazil isn’t "prudent" — it’s reckless.
