C'est embêtant dans mon workflow et en plus il semble de que je doive spécifier le module pour chaque localized string (car mon StringCatalogs serait dans un <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/SPM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SPM</span></a>) du coup pas si pratique pour moi. Je vais attendre que SwiftGen supporte ça. 🤷🏻‍♂️</p>
Germán Buela<p>How are you supposed to use a string catalog with a fallback language? I have English and English UK, the latter only defines the strings that differ.<br />As it is, it works, but fallback translations have the “New” state and completion is at 5%. If I mark each of those as Reviewed, they get an empty translation instead of falling back to English.<br />I guess I should be able to have it at 100% if I can somehow be explicit about what should be a fallback.<br /><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Xcode15" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Xcode15</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/StringCatalogs" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>StringCatalogs</span></a></p>
Fahim FarookEven if you are not looking at translating your app to support other languages, you owe it to yourself to take a look at String Catalogs in Xcode 15 🙂<br><br>With String Catalogs it’s easy to set up number and noun agreements (1 book vs. 2 books) or noun adjective agreement for languages which have gendered nouns (such as French, Spanish, Portuguese) very easily.<br><br>Just for the number-noun agreement part, I used to litter my code with ternary operators. But it’s so much easier to set up with String Catalogs.
