This is <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/Krodo?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Krodo</a>, a Germanic god of the Saxons who is depicted with a fish (water/food), a sun cross (time), clothes blowing in the wind (wind/air), and a bucket of roses (love/fertility). Nobody knows if he was a real god or just a legend picked up by a 15th century chronicle (the author failed to mention any sources and contemporaries already had their doubts). Today's historians think it may be a fake, but the town of <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/BadHarzburg?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#BadHarzburg</a> still uses him as a mascot. Na ja, zumindest einen kleinen Teil davon. Und für den Streetfotografen darf und soll natürlich gern die lebendige Umgebung mit ins Bild. Auf dem Neuen Markt sind immer Menschen unterwegs – manche verweilen, manche laufen wie hier nur über den Platz. Für dieses Foto stand ich einige Minuten mit hochgehaltener Kamera auf der Suche nach dem richtigen Bildausschnitt und auf die richtige Person für den Hintergrund wartend.
