After starting out as a duo, M83's Anthony Gonzalez released the third album, 'Before the Dawn Heals Us', as a solo artist on 24 January 2005.

The result was a more coherent mix of the dense electro cinema for which the project is now so widely praised.

The epic final track was first used as the backing for the Spike Jonze-directed intro sequence to Lakai's 2007 feature-length skateboarding film Fully Flared, which blew the minds of an entire generation.

Rewatching Spike Jonze's Her today, and I couldn’t help but draw parallels between the main character writing fake letters and modern-day AI chatbots like ChatGPT.

The way those fictional letters were crafted to evoke emotions feels eerily similar to how AI can generate text today.

It really makes me question the film’s underlying message about connection and authenticity in a world of artificial intelligence. 🤖💌

as prescient as that movie was, the weirdest is how Samantha took the letters he had written -- for work -- and compiled them into a book, which is accepted by a publisher, likely violating corporate copyright which is totally something AI would do!

Given AI's history, and the visceral reaction so many people are having to it, I expect there will be a reactionary movement in the coming years.

When I first watched "Her" I thought his job was silly; professional letter writer, but in the post chatGPT world I could see people valuing gifts more if they required human effort to make, why not a letter?
