Husband answered the phone to a #Spammer a few years ago after his phone had been ringing incessantly for *days.*

So when he hit the button to answer, he said, "This is #MaryPoppins. How can I help you today?" He didn't even change the timbre if his voice.

Dead silence for a good ten seconds. Then, *click*!

He didn't have another #SpamCall for *months.*

Anyone else have #spamcalls go up? I’ve gotten 3 today after not getting any for a while.

I had several months of few spam calls then suddenly I've had several days of about 50 per day.

Frightening caller IDs like names of local hospitals.

I have to filter all calls and texts through Google now, which sacrifices privacy, but keeps my phone usable.

I also have the carrier spam filtering which seems to do nothing.

does anyone know if there's somewhere to report scam/spam numbers?

I am so fucking sick of these worthless sacks of shit calling me multiple times per day, leaving VOICEMAILS every time, from a different number every time so I can't just block them.

I hope they die a slow and horrible death, and the same for whatever carrier keeps giving them numbers. I would also really appreciate it if Fido/Rogers stopped letting spam calls through their network.

Two different numbers, both identifying as #HousingSolutions called about problems I had (not) reported. The first person couldn't hear me saying that I had a water leak and it was 3 feet deep; the second caller heard me again say water 3 feet deep and went quiet - I then cut him off

I am having wonderful success answering every call from an unknown number with "Thank you for contacting Microsoft Fraud Department. Agent Reese speaking. How may I help you?" Instant hang up.

Elmo switched on audio and video calling by default, which could expose your IP address, and allow spammers to call you. Turn it off.

I'm looking for a #privacyfriendly safe call blocking app for Android. It should be able to block all phone calls not in my contact list but allow them when called again (within a certain time). It would also be great if it checked if I called the number and allow it when I did. Is there any?

I found Silence on F-droid but I'm a bit reluctant to go use it since it needs a lot of permissions to work (which is logical, but I'm still hesitant).

Bisher hatte mich "Paypal" immer mit einer deutschen Festnetznummer angerufen. Dann war es eine deutsche Handynummer. Aber jetzt kommen die sogar mit österreichischen Nummern.
