#Rural #hospitals typically operate on thin profit margins & rely on #Medicaid tax payments to sustain them. Researchers from the Cecil G. Sheps Center for #Health Services Research who examined the House bill concluded it would push more than 300 rural hospitals — many of them in Kentucky, Louisiana, California & Oklahoma — toward service reductions or closure.

States often use the federal money generated through the taxes to pay the institutions more than #Medicaid would otherwise pay. (Medicaid generally pays the lowest fees for care, compared with #Medicare & private #insurance.)

#Hospitals & #NursingHomes say they use these extra Medicaid dollars to expand or add new services & improve #care for all patients.

#Health researchers say the policy would have little impact on #employment. Giving little or no value to "unworthy lives" is very much in line with #Fascism, in particular of the type practiced by the #ThirdReich.

Ad extremis, some important #Longtermists would even go as far as annihilating 3 billion people to achieve the end of making humanity a "multi-planetary species:" 3)

And if you think of #Longtermists' believe of making #humanity a multi-planetary species, that is going to cost hundreds if billions.

@molly0xfff When people like that set out to suppress "ideology", with no reasonable argument as to why its only ideology, what they're saying is that their wealth and power are the only things that should matter and they are tired or dealing with inconvenient facts.

They represent "the natural order" and anything that would elicit disapproval of them is unnatural "ideology".
