I had previously read the sequel, Six of Crows, and was excited to read more of that universe, so I went off to read the prequel.</p><p>I remember I had a trip to my aunt's house in the mountains. Because of the small size of the car, I had to ride in the trunk next to a gas can that stunk. Despite that, the winding road and the horrible nausea I got, I kept reading because I just couldn't stop.</p><p>In my Aunt's house I kept reading until late at night, with the cold of the mountain freezing me in the hammock where I slept. It was disappointing, I won't deny it, but I found solace in re-reading Six of Crows and enjoyed it even more because of the context of the previous trilogy, so I'm still very fond of it.</p><p>Maybe I'll read it again one of these days...</p><p><a href="https://tkz.one/tags/bookstodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bookstodon</span></a> <a href="https://tkz.one/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>books</span></a> <a href="https://tkz.one/tags/sixofcrows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sixofcrows</span></a> <a href="https://tkz.one/tags/grishaverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>grishaverse</span></a> <a href="https://tkz.one/tags/ShadowAndBone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ShadowAndBone</span></a></p>
