Michael Grass<p>I ventured up to Licton Springs Park, the source of the namesake reddish iron oxide spring that&#39;s one of the few Puget Sound Salish place names still in use in the Seattle area today. (It&#39;s about a 10 minute walk west from the Northgate Link station, near Woodlawn Ave N &amp; N 97th St.)</p><p>More background from Crosscut: <a href="https://crosscut.com/2019/04/north-seattle-native-people-reclaim-whitewashed-spring" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">crosscut.com/2019/04/north-sea</span><span class="invisible">ttle-native-people-reclaim-whitewashed-spring</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Seattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Seattle</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/SeattleParks" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SeattleParks</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/SeattleWalks" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SeattleWalks</span></a></p>

Michael Grass<p>I love stumbling upon monkey puzzle trees (Araucaria araucana), a species native to Chile, in Seattle.
