*|FNAME|* 🇨🇦🇺🇦🇬🇱
We’ve been forgoing buying lettuce because everything seemed to have come out of the USA. However, today we found some greens grown in #Canada by Good Leaf, which is a company in #Calgary that grows fresh produce year round using vertical farming practises. rhtunstall
My wife just had an altercation with a #SaveOnFoods manager who would only replace half of the spolied meat she had been sold.

She told him this was the 4th time recently she’s had to return rotten meat to this store and if he didn’t replace all the spoiled meat she’d be done with #SaveOnFoods completely. The manager just replied “fine!” and walked away from her.

The gall of these grocery chains is unreal. They jack their prices, pawn bad meat and when caught, download the losses onto the customer.

It was once said “the customer is always right”. Nowadays Managers openly insult customers because their grocery chains are stinking rich off all our backs and always have 50 more gullible consumers they can pawn their bad product onto.

Screw #SaveOnFoods. Jan 🏳️‍⚧️🇨🇦
I've been that employee too many times. I've been fired by an employer because someone else pissed off a customer and then quit, and the customer still wanted someone else to lose their job over it. I'll spare y'all the details, but I've experienced everything from attempts to work me to exhaustion, to having French knives and anything else that was on the counter hurled at me.

I don't know what it was about today in particular, but I'm thoroughly done with letting companies abuse their employees like that. I told them that I expected a full explanation and accountability from the management in question, not to have them try to offer me a low-ranked employee as a punching bag.

I also let them know that if I decide that SoF isn't a good company to deal with, that I would happily help everyone I knew find alternatives and let them know exactly why.

If we don't stand together, we're fucked. Let's stand together.

#SaveOnFoods
3/3

Jan 🏳️‍⚧️🇨🇦
I also let them know that it is bad to stomp on the lowest-ranked employees in an effort to make the company's name look better. (Don't worry -- I make it very clear as I'm talking that I am not angry or upset with the person I'm talking to -- indeed, I'm doing this so they don't have to go through the BS I've gone through in that same position, and I'm just asking them to help me deliver that message upstream. I let them know that I'm trying to articulate what I find objectionable so that it is more difficult for management to sweep it under the rug or otherwise refuse to address the concerns.)

I let them know that I need SoF to acknowledge the mismanagement (sending new drivers out with a full load is just asinine, to say nothing of the poor decisions that led them to that point) to the customer, rather than try to blame their most vulnerable employees.

#SaveOnFoods
2/3ish

Jan 🏳️‍⚧️🇨🇦
Oh, the joys of dealing with big companies. 🤦‍♀️ Save-On Foods head office just called me to tell me that "due to new delivery drivers slowing things down", my order wouldn't be delivered until tomorrow at 3pm at the earliest -- and they were seriously trying to get me to take a later time or even a later day than tomorrow!

My sweetie can get pretty upset when I argue with someone, so I waited 'til she was at work and called SoF's head office back.

My position is absolutely clear -- I'm over not getting the groceries on time (that's the easy part), but I'll never be over the "stomp down on your newest employees" attitude.

I let them know I have some experience working for a similarly-sized grocer in a different province, but even without that experience, it was absolutely plain to see that this wasn't a result of less-than-stellar new delivery drivers. Rather, the root cause was an abject failure in management that is very actionable.

#SaveOnFoods
1/2ish
