I gotta say, if you want a wild handheld music making machine, look no further than the Polyend Tracker Mini. I don't know what the deal is with software updates, but the beta I have now has more of a toolbox than I could ever use, and the constraints are enough to give it its own flavor as a musical workstation.

Samples are a cajon, a shaker, and my voice. Song is called "In a Box"

Okay, @miona's #VGMWednesday has a theme of #Sampled - looking for songs where elements from video game music is incorporated into the beat / melody of a song.

Let's take it back to 1995 when Bone Thugs-N-Harmony sampled the underrated #SegaGenesis fighting game Eternal Champions in their aptly titled track, "Eternal."

For today's #VGMWednesday with the theme of #Sampled I finally have a reason to promote one of my favourite bands that functionally disbanded years ago because both members now live on opposite sides of the world- Surgyn!

This track heavily samples Dr Steinman from Bioshock, and overall the whole of the album (Vanity, 2011) makes great use of loads of videogame samples. It's a fantastic album overall and it's a shame Surgyn only ever put out 2 albums before moving onto unrelated creative projects. I did however get to see them 3 times, during their brief career, and they were amazing.

Thanks again to @miona for the event!

I pretty much exclusively listen to VGM only, so for this week's VGM Wednesday, I'll do the opposite of what the actual theme is and share a couple of VGM that sampled an artist's music.

My choices are the air and surface boss themes of Armed Police Batrider: Chop U! and Let Ass Kick Together!

Both of these sample the Cocobat Crunch album from Cocobat, specifically Can't Wake Up and Cocobat Crunch respectively.
