Minneapolis Mass Shooting

Shooter leaves behind journals in russian, FSB insignia, and weapons marked with russian words. Local TV reports it as “some foreign language.”

If this were Arabic, “terrorism” would be on screen in minutes. But when it’s russian, silence. And I can already predict - the shooter’s gender identity will be weaponized endlessly in debates, while their russian language and kremlin symbols quietly vanish from the story.

Children are dead. And America still looks away from moscow’s swamp.

Just came back from beautiful Tbilisi, Georgia, where we just spent a week. Fascinating city with amazing food and so kind and helpful people.

They speak Georgian, English and Russian.

I thought they would frown upon russian speaking people (because of 2008), but that was not at all the case.
Younger people mostly didn't speak Russian, even those with service professions, so we had to fallback to English. With the older people (~40 and above) I got to practise Russian a bit.

The phonology of modern Hebrew seems to sort of line up with Russian and Ukrainian? At least for the ה ח Хх ه ح خ section? (the middle letter is Cyrillic kh)

Also based on #Hebrew spelling Vladimir with a matching Beta, while #Arabic uses that letter for Putin … no, I was mixed up he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%95%D Hebrew spells Vladimir with a و at the start، is the ف פ they use for different names.
