when #Aerosmith and #RunDMC released “Walk This Way” in 1986 I knew who Run DMC were but I had never heard of Aerosmith. Back in those days if the N.M.E. didn’t cover a band, and they were not played on the radio there was no way of finding out who they were. I thought they were a new band Run DMC were helping out LOL. The opposite was likely true for Aerosmith fans being introduced to Run DMC I guess. It’s sort of cute to watch it with modern eyes, it’s a good bit youtube.com/watch?v=4B_UYYPb-G
