Took a chance on a rainy day to bicycle the Root River Trail. Waited for the thunder and the heaviest rain to finish. I don't bicycle in thunderstorms, but don't mind the rain if I have my rain gear. Light on and off drizzle, so didn't really need it.

2 heavy branches down, but easily navigatable.

2 bunnies, a chipmunk, & a solid black squirrel.

6 electric bicyclists, 4 racing type cyclists, 2 utilitarian types. Pretty busy for a rainy day.

For I wore my Underground Railroad Bicycle Route jersey. Bicycled on the Root River Trail to and from Peterson and went to the gazebo in front of city hall behind the library where they've been having live bands presented by the Rushford Public Library every Thursday for the month of June.

Tried to get out and bicycle the Root River Trail to Peterson today. After a stop sign on the trail just past Rushford , electric bike rider said "On your left" and the first time I did this in over 30 years--I started to turn left instead of right. I adjusted too late, but he adjusted properly. Been feeling "off" all day, so going home to recalibrate for the day.

Peterson has another gnome by their museum. The business I stopped at off the Root River Trail had drinks and snacks. The "Cool Ranch" flavor tastes like the Doritos, but are much more filling.

The counter had a bike multi-tool for sale and I suggested they should probably carry bike tire patch kits too. Most bicyclists aren't going to think to stop in the Rushford hardware store and there are no bike shops between Houston and Lanesboro.

Sometimes bicycling is fine, and some days it hurts. Spouse made me take pain reliever to shut me up. And pointed out I'm a lot older. Was a cold Winter for me.

Root River Trail from Rushford, Minnesota to Houston, Minnesota and back It was 50 Kilometers, which used to be an easy distance when I was working and bicycle commuting. Went over Cushon's Peak both ways bicycling, a little jealous of the electric bikes going up it so much easier.

Bicycled from Rushford to Peterson and back on the Root River Trail. The tree behind the sign is blooming.

Let another bicyclist borrow my chain tool for his folding bike while I took a break and gazed at the water.

7 bicyclists, 4 people fishing with a small dog. On the river, 4 people in 2 canoes and 4 people in 2 kayaks.

This toot was the same place in Winter:

Another beautiful day for bicycling.

Still hardly any bugs compared to the same kind of trail in Huntsville, Alabama. Lot more birds, though.

Called and left a message with the Rochester Department of Natural Resources about this downed tree on the Root River Trail between mile marker 34 and 35.

Bicycled over the long bridge crossing over the Root River on the Root River Trail between Houston, Minnesota and Rushford, Minnesota.

The "clank clunk" of what sounded like loose planks was unnerving, but seemed perfectly safe.

The large white boards that were in the middle are gone. I'm sure they were there for a reason during winter, I just don't know what that is.

It was beautiful weather today.
