Chris Merle<p>I am not a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/polyglot" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>polyglot</span></a>, not even close, but I do like learning languages. I speak none fluently, but I could probably function as a tourist who knows enough to get by in some of those countries that speak them. Anyway, I had no problem with remembering the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/CyrillicAlphabet" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>CyrillicAlphabet</span></a>, which I think now is because it has so much in common with the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/RomanAlphabet" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RomanAlphabet</span></a>. I had no frame of reference with the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/hirigana" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>hirigana</span></a> or <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/katakana" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>katakana</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/syllabary" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>syllabary</span></a> and there was no <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/romaji" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>romaji</span></a> in the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/japanese" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>japanese</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Duolingo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Duolingo</span></a> test.</p>
