Sadly the United States is already discussing similar legislation see #EarnItAct #Kosa and #RestrictAct. Not to mention that in order to be advertiser friendly they already demonetized a lot of topics that were deemed for an adult audience for example on Youtube.
The cloud act it doesn't matter in which data center your files are because the nsa can still look inside
Obviously if politicians have zero IT skills the laws are bad.
Just sent a strongly-worded letter to representatives/senators.
Needed a multi-stage process to finish the letter, I had to process my emotional reaction & distill to something grammatically sensical.
We'll see how they respond...

Brought it up w/my partner yesterday after a little research, and agreed this would be the last straw if it passes. As of this posting, it's been introduced, so we have time to contact our rep's before it's voted on.
Now my brain is 100% occupied with researching moving overseas...good thing I don't have any high-priority tasks/items at work...
