Catalyst Echo<p>It's a BOX! In point of fact, it is my box. It was a thrift store find that I stripped and refinished. <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23CreatedbyCat" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#CreatedbyCat</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23resinart" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#resinart</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23furnitureflip" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#furnitureflip</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23refinishing" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#refinishing</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23makeoldthingsnew" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#makeoldthingsnew</a></p>

Today, I mixed up some west system filler and slathered that punky board in micro-balloon goodness.</p><p>No one will ever see the underside, but I will know the base is structurally sound. </p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/woodworking" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>woodworking</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/refinishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>refinishing</span></a></p>

Ted Cadwallader<p>This is the latest piece I’ve refinished. I’m not the first one to bring it back as I could see the work done before me as I sanded and reconstructed it. I used guilding wax on parts of the legs to highlight the floral leaf pattern. The inlaid gold wire on top was done for the original piece. I am always so impressed by the original craftsmanship when I work on these. For reference, it’s about a cubic foot. Not sure if its original use. <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/DIY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DIY</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/refinishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>refinishing</span></a></p>

Flinn sells an epoxy product, but I have no idea if it’s any good. Ted Cadwallader<p>This is the latest refinishing project. An old chest of drawers from the <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/1960s" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>1960s</span></a>. I kept the hardware and have a few small bits to finish but I’m pleased with it so far. <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/DIY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DIY</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/refinishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>refinishing</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/KeepsMeOutOfTrouble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KeepsMeOutOfTrouble</span></a></p>
Ted Cadwallader<p>We have had this little side table in our basement for too many years. It’s kidney-shaped and has 3 legs. It has been painted by someone else at least twice. First green and then white. I’m finally taking the paint off to see what it really looks like and decide what to do with it next. Will share a photo when I’ve got all the paint off it. <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/diy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>diy</span></a> #1970 <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/furniture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>furniture</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/refinishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>refinishing</span></a></p>
Eric Wayne<p>I finished this some time ago (a lot of bondo work) but it needed a little something extra. I thought I would give rub n buff a try, used a fancy stencil, and I&#39;m pleased with the outcome. It looks like two pieces but it&#39;s all one piece. <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Antique" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Antique</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Refinishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Refinishing</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/PaintedFurniture" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PaintedFurniture</span></a></p>
Erstkate<p>I found this chest of drawers on a street with "free" on it, so grabbed it. It had been covered in a thick, ugly khaki / brown solid paint, and the original brown stain under that (you can still see a bit on the top there - will have another go at dissolving it away with ethanol). I have sanded it fairly smooth, but want to get one grade smoother.</p><p>What should I do with it now?</p><p><a href="https://aus.social/tags/furniture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>furniture</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/antique" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>antique</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/probablyantique" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>probablyantique</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/woodwork" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>woodwork</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/refinishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>refinishing</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/cedaroil" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cedaroil</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/varnish" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>varnish</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/paint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>paint</span></a></p>
Reverend Blair<p>There's a rough view. I mean the dovetails aren't together yet and I think I need more curve on those side pieces,but that's the general idea. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/woodworking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>woodworking</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/refinishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>refinishing</span></a></p>
