spent the morning working on a proposal trying to get some buy in, they are going to hve to spend maybe 700 for 3 machines - fw box, combo nas/internal web server and a virt box for stuff like pihole/dev plus a 2.5 switch - getting drives for those boxes (ssd and a spinning rust drive for backup image) may be a big part of the total cost - (refurb) hw is almost ridiculously cheap these days. they kind of need a dedicated network closet to enhance security #rfp

I created a new #Librewolf profile, then went to https://www.amiunique.org/, and it says I'm "unique among the 2819143 fingerprints in [their] entire dataset." I expected a much different result...
A new LW profile has "Enable ResistFingerprinting" ticked, as well as "Silently block canvas access requests". Yet the test results show "Canvas: 0.00%", meaning I'm unique with just that...? How does that work?
Arkenfox disables privacy.resistFingerprinting in version 128 in favor of FPP.

I once worked on a software project for #trump #casinos. We built a wicked functional demo for their #rfp.
Trump bought 3 casinos, each one was run on its own #AS400 mainframe in the basement of each site.
My team created a web app that pretended to be an AS400 terminal. We mapped out all the locations on each screen where text would appear or be entered, and using "screen scraping", we'd automate the remote system, pushing & pulling data between the web app and the 50 year old mainframe.
This allowed a booking agent to pull up the app, and check availability etc at not just one, but all three properties at once.
It was brilliant software. I had never even seen a line of #cSharp before that project, but I left with a profound respect for it.
Trump being Trump, he lost or sold one or two of those properties before we could sell them our solution, and the whole thing went nowhere.
