I’m listening to The Water Outlaws by SL Huang, and although I usually really like the narrator, Emily Woo Zeller, the voice she uses for Lu Da just makes me think of a cartoon character. This might be one of the rare times that I hop from audio to ebook (but maybe not, because I am already reading an ebook and I have limited brain. 2 audio + 1 written is my limit.) I am really enjoying the story, which is a gender bent retelling of a classic Chinese novel. #AmReading #bookstodon #QueerBooks

I just finished Running Close to the Wind by Alexandra Rowland and it was such a good time. It was *by far* the horniest book I have ever read that contained zero actual sex. There were so many sex jokes. It was so joyfully and playfully queer. Julian was delightful, Avra was incredibly annoying (complimentary), Tev was emo and dramatic and I love them. The narrator was also great. If you like pirates, slapstick humour, and ridiculous shenanigans, I recommend. #AmReading #bookstodon #QueerBooks

I frequently see questions about queer rep in people's books. For my current series, listing cis-het characters would be a lot faster.

The Harmony of Falling Snow has precisely one character who is cannonically gender-selective. She's a lesbian. Everyone one else is pan, demi, or ace. Most are polyamorous. There are a lot of cis people, but there are also plenty of folks who are NB, agender, or would be trans if their culture assigned gender at birth.

The cutest LGBTQ+ metadata / subject headings tool- Homosaurus!

Nobody is going to find that book if you catalog it under "sexual minorities".

Can authors get appropriate metadata to go with their book? How/where? Can people crowd source metadata for books, and would it be "valid".
I'm just a stunted (in present job) library assistant. I loved metadata in college, I miss catalogs with subject headings, and I loathe poorly labeled
/ cataloged books.

Here's my Sapphic Love Scene Word Count Graph!

🔥 My new novel "Shifting Nature" is the book with the single longest love scene at 6,395 words!

🔥 It's closely followed by "Backwards to Oregon" at 6,220 words.

🔥 "Just Physical" is the only book with three explicit love scene, which makes sense since it's a one-night-stand-to-forever romance.
