It’s Public Domain Day 2023 and lots of interesting works from 1927 are entering the public domain. Newly PD films I’d recommend are Metropolis (Fritz Lang), Wings (William A. It's entirely possible that copyright trolling has destroyed part of the cultural record, and without the 1998 extension these films may not have been lost.
