#Pompeyfc match against #BlackburnRovers at #EwoodPark has been postponed.
My team #PompeyFC lost their game today so I’m not in a good mood. I think I’ll go and invade France, Spain and Portugal.
Sorry! Not ‘invade’. Drive through
I shall be visiting this place tomorrow (Sunday)
This adorns the entrance to my ‘church’ (Fratton Park - home of #PortsmouthFC #PompeyFC)
Your strikers need to up their game. We were there for the taking.
This is the most exciting thing I’ve ever seen on a Tuesday… apart from the Tuesday night I saw my football (soccer) team gain promotion as champions with a last-minute goal. #PompeyFC
A bus waiting in Goldsmith Avenue Portsmouth after #Pompeyfc won promotion to the EFL Championship after beating Barnsley FC 3-2 at Fratton Park.
Play Up Pompey
I’m an extremely happy chappy since last night.
Not only did my team #PompeyFC lose today but I had this nutcase stood just behind me…
That is John Arthur Portsmouth Football Club Westwood (that’s his actual name).
My ‘church’ aka Fratton Park, all lit up for an evening game against Bolton Wanderers in a top of the table clash in the EFL League One, looking west towards Portsmouth’s iconic Spinnaker tower.
For the record #Pompeyfc won 2-0
I was one of those 23,462. I’m sure the #Pompeyfc players were hungover from the night before.
#Pompey had the better of the first half, #Exeter arguably more of the second, but the only statistic that means a thing is the score line, and it's finished 1-0 to #Portsmouth.
#Pompey definitely the better of the two south coast teams at the half, but still scoreless.
I pay so little attention to domestic #football these days that it's taken until now - an hour before kick-off - for me to realise that #Portsmouth will be shown live on TV tonight.
Happy birthday to Paulsgrove’s finest, Joe Jackson.
Apocryphal tale: Joe Jackson was performing at a gig somewhere in Canada and just before he started singing ‘Home Town’, a song dedicated to his hometown of Portsmouth, he noticed someone in the audience wearing a #Pompeyfc top. He duly announced the song to the audience but then said, “And just for you in the #Pompey top, the next song is Home Tain.”
If you know you know
Don’t forget the #Pompeyfc hashtag and follow if it’s Pompey stuff
I would just like to say a big welcome to all the new #PompeyFC fans that have gently joined.
