After a lot of behind the scenes organising, we have just opened up booking for our 12th annual Permaculture Design course.

The updated format now takes place at three main venues in Ireland, along with several other short site visits.

We cover the full PDC curriculum (certificate issued by UK Perm Assoc), with a strong focus on peoplecare in how we run the course.

In branching out and putting the best of both courses and locations, along with new partner Common Knowledge, together in 2025, we are offering an even more diverse multi venue PDC programme! The US #election politics are distracting from the organizing that we need to do to create #PeopleCare and #EarthCare and #FairShare. ... I am feeling grief over #Palestine and #Sudan and #extinction and the #climateCrisis. #ThankYou for our continued #Resistance to #colonialism and #capitalism. I am grateful for our revelations and our #building a new world.
Let's keep renewing our hopes and dreams for a #SolidarityEconomy #Beauty #Love #RegenerativeFutures #Emergence

@cy @ttiurani @HeavenlyPossum the first clue about how they'd behave irl comes with their culture of origin: Tonga. That's a culture of taking care of one another. Men cook and care for children there. I don't know that the same outcome would show with a group of "typical" American kids. I don't think it's "natural" for a group of kids to devolve into chaos and mayhem, but dominant culture and childhood experiences are definitely going to matter or make a difference. Difference in basic cultural values matters. It's why I've stayed in Polynesia, over returning to the continental u.s., the people aren't terrible or selfish. They know how to cooperate and be kind to one another. Embracing/accepting capitalism as fact, whether rich or poor, makes people desperate and shitty. #EarthCare #PeopleCare #FairShare

If everybody that wanted to start "an ecovillage/retreat center" would just grow food, hold abusers accountable for their actions, and be kind to their neighbors, including kids, animals and old people, they wouldn't have to keep thinking their "novel" idea will never come to pass. 🙄
Idk what they think is going to magically happen when they finally "have" this "retreat center". Now. Now is your now. Also: learn how to cooperate. Learn that you are *ONE* person and so is everybody else. What do YOU bring to the community table? How is YOUR ecovillage/retreat center not already where you hang your hat? Why do people always want to "start" one, but rarely ever "join" an already established one? #community #ecovillage #solarpunk #dreams #grow #farm #EarthCare #PeopleCare #FairShare

@adamvs1 The worst thing for the oppressors of the world to know is that People Care. The next worst thing is that People Demonstrate that they care. That’s generally why the police come in… to eliminate the evidence that people care. And to intimidate other people to not show they care. #PeopleCare

@arod Neither. The discourse around wokeness is pejorative. It is #Othering: us vs them.
Your larger question, IMHO, is better. The work of the #NapMinistry and its intention to promote #rest is part of the current #Justice movements. It is the transition from individual frenzied actions and personal attacks to sustained justice efforts and individual selfcare in the context of #communitycare. Let us care for each other: #PeopleCare is #earthcare and #FutureCare

@derek The outgoing #DSA Director summarizes 12 years of #UShistory from the perspective of the Democratic #Socialists of America. I am thinking about the difference between #organizing for #power and doing #PeopleCare versus policy advocacy and lawmaking. After #MLKDay, I’m calling myself “in“ to reflect on when I am that white progressive he spoke of who cares more about order and how I am the #activist and community organizer seeking to build #grassrootsPower. #DontMournOrganize.

Is anyone at #Socialism2023 in #Chicago? The in-person speaker schedule looked great. I wasn’t as inspired by the virtual conference program, but I’ll take another look: it starts tomorrow. More #socialists are considering “non-reformist reforms”, such as #PublicBanking and #ParticipatoryBudgeting and even —gasp! — #Cooperatives. Cheers to the #SolidarityEconomy and all the ways we can do #PeopleCare and #FutureCare and #EarthCare. #Love #BoundlessRegenerativeCulture #permaculture

Seeing alot of horrible shit scrolling around rn. Wanted to remind everyone you matter. People love and care about you. There's alot of hate out there right now and it's easy to get swept up and feel lost and alone. It's easy to feel forgotten but know this: No matter what I'm proud of you, you all have a place here and if any of you ever need someone my door is always open. Stay safe and please look after yourselves.
