Two bare winter trees in an open field, branches just overlapping, in the sideways winter sun. The right hand one has an attractively curved trunk, bending to the right and then curving left again. There are clouds on the horizon behind them which look a bit like snow-covered hills, but the land is flat.

Grand Union Canal 2. A narrowboat moored at the towpath, the modern broad lock with its sluice winding gear standing up at an angle, and the beams to open the gates. Harder to see is the original narrow lock on the right, closed off with water spilling over.

Divided birch. Not a great photo, but the last I've ever taken of this tree, which I have used as a subject for years. When I last walked past the right hand limb was gone! Health & safety trimming I suspect.
