Klimaatdata, cultuurarchieven, wetenschappelijke publicaties: het zijn geen vanzelfsprekendheden meer in de VS, waar de regering-Trump steeds vaker digitale informatie laat verwijderen die niet past in haar ideologie.

BIT steunt het project Safeguar.de (@SafeguardingResearch)om deze bedreigde data veilig te stellen door gratis infrastructuur beschikbaar te stellen in ons datacenter. Zo dragen we bij aan het behoud van kennis en cultuur, buiten het bereik van politieke censuur.

One of the things I use Google Maps for is to check restaurant reviews when looking for a place to eat. It would be nice to have something similar not controlled by a corporation, that can be integrated with OpenStreetMap.

@mangroveReviews provides an infrastructure for that, and is already integrated into @MapComplete. If it was supported by OSM apps such as @CoMaps, @organicmaps, #OsmAnd or #Mapy_com, it would see much wider usage and have better coverage.
