Good news! Looks like @njalla silently added support for credit cards. 🥳💸
Their website started listing it on November 29.

Was going to ditch them before my next renewals because I refuse to use Bullshit Coins or PayPal, the worst of all payment companies.

Hello,

TL;DR: *.invidious.io down temporarily

During our move to a new uptime checker, a change was made to the invidious.io DNS...

This worked... except our provider's ( @njalla #njalla ) name servers fucked up and haven't pushed anything (other than a deletion of the existing entries).... meaning all our DNS just disappeared from the internet (except for the rare DNS that cache)...

I already opened a support ticket with them...

Don't worry though... we're still alive!

Apparently all .tv domains registered through Sarek Oy (sarek.fi; or #Njalla, which uses them) are currently disabled by the .tv registry (turnon.tv / godaddy). No details are known and domain owners were not notified. This affects a few piracy sites, but also any other unrelated .tv domains, unfortunately including my jomo.tv domain. Piracy related .tv domains using a different registrar are not affected.

And of course, just as I finished working around my #njalla VPS being dead for 4 hours, they silently fixed it.

However at this point, I'm not quite sure it's worth sticking with nja.la since I have now done the work to setup the replacement on OVH, who I hear is also safe from bogus DMCAs and is at 1/3 the cost.

If I can get a floating IP to work in OVH, I might close down my njalla server.

Ok, so I've looked at several options for domain registration, and while I hear that #Njalla is pretty good, I don't want to end up paying too much money due to exchange rates between USD and Euros if it gets too bad as I don't have a whole lot of money and I may want to eventually possibly set up my own #PeerTube instance, and #Porkbun is apparently nice to use but they're using #Cloudflare for DNS now, and also apparently...
1/2

#GoogleDomains (just for discoverability, as I intend to switch)

I found this post of you very informative, thank you!

It seems #Porkbun is migrating to #Cloudflare DNS. Find more info here:

#Njalla still seems like a good alternative though.

Do you maybe have any other recommendations for privacy-respecting DNS providers? On the long run, I want to use it for emails (other provider is ok) and static web hosting (which is not really a criterion anymore by modern standards).
