Erica Cole
Update from my little corner. The ear infection is definitely easing, if slowly, and it's a week old today. now I've had to change my antibiotic because I have a swollen face and lips. That necessitated ordering a new medicalert disc and updating my records with them in case anything happens. So with all that happening I was up at 10.30ish, rather than my usual 12:00ish. The face feels weird. I dribble when I'm drinking and speaking is a little more difficult, particularly F's and P's. Sippy cup anyone? I have now resorted to drinking my cups of tea with a silicone straw and holding it in the ok-ish corner of my mouth. Our usual family friend got me some live yoghurt and Piriton syrup from asda to help get my digestive system sorted while I'm on the antibiotics and antifungals, andbring down the swelling respectively. She also made cups of tea before she left so I'm feeling rather grateful and glad we have such good people in our lives. #ThankfulThursday #medicalStuff

Joan Grey
I've got arthritis in my right knee. In September, I got a cortisone shot and it fixed things for three weeks. Then something shifted in my knee and it felt like I was being stabbed in the leg... for days.
I've just had a second cortisone shot, but this time my leg is swollen and aching from mid-thigh to mid-calf.
If this doesn't help, the only next step is a total knee replacement.
Fuck.
(Right now, I just want my leg to stop aching. Ow.)
#arthritis #MedicalStuff #knees

Htaggert
Today in unusual #MedicalStuff I see a pt complaint of shoulder pain. Doctor treats pt based on an X-ray from 2000. I know we want to reduce radiation, but I’m wondering if anything at all might have changed in the 22 years since that #imaging #xray #radiology
