letterboxd.comA ★½ review of Argylle (2024)Dieser Film ist eine kreative Bankrotterklärung, ein resigniertes Hinnehmen dessen, mit KINGSMAN bereits alles gesagt, alles an inszenatorischen Kniffen auf den Tisch gelegt zu haben. Es ist unglaublich ermüdend, Matthew Vaughn fast zwei Stunden lang bei der verzweifelten Suche nach Originalität zuzusehen, nur um dann auf den letzten Metern doch noch KINGSMAN von Wish geliefert zu bekommen. Diesem Film diesen 139-minütigen Raum zu geben, ist sein Todesurteil. Klar, man kann über die Abstrusitäten des Agentenfilms debattieren, über seelenlose Massenware auf dem Literaturmarkt streiten und irgendwo auch über Verschwörungserzählungen nachdenken. Aber dafür ist der Film letztlich doch zu zahnlos, zu unmotiviert
