@msxwiki The 4MiB ROM might give a clue. A lot of data, which I reckon is also hard to compress for screen 11. Also, it's slow to transfer from RAM to VRAM (and even VRAM to VRAM) so the scroll speed and variation also suffer.
Screen 4 is used more often afaik. Space Manbow, Hydefos, Firehawk.
Screen 7: TNT?, Campaign 2, Metal Gear 2. Screen 8 games: breaker? radx-8? Zoo? Not sure on any of those. But they weren't very common.
Now this is an astonishing 8bit game...
I wonder why the MSX2+ VDP isn't used more often.

@TheGibson seeing the Bug-Byte loading screen on an #MSX game usually was an indication of getting some great gameplay though (once the data cassette tape had finally finished loading...)
